Episode Transcription

Hello everybody. I'm Edie. I'm Eli. And I'm Elle. And welcome to Triple E Podcast. Podcast. We have a wonderful podcast planned ahead of us today and today's theme outdoor, it's gonna be epic. We're going to kick things off telling you guys our favorite plants. Hey El, why don't you start us off? So mine is the blazing star.

It is purple and it is kind of furry and it's kind of looks like a fry. So like a few fries in a rubber band like tied together. So a furry purple fry rubber band. Yeah, exactly. Why do you like the shape of this furry purple fry rubber band? Well, it just looks pretty silly. Because it's like purple and it's furry.

It sometimes reminds me of unicorns moving on, um, or fairies. Eli, why don't you tell us about, um, your favorite flower? Wait, let me, yes. Is it a prairie Lily? Yep. Alright. Why do you like the prairie Lily? It has a bunch of colors and my favorite one has a bunch of colors. It's like, has weirdly brown, yellow, and orange.

And like when we saw it, seen it didn't have like freckles. It it what? It did have brown spots. Yes. It's a really, really that me and Eli really beautiful flowers. Right. Eli? That's my first time I heard it, but okay. I do caught freckles. Um. Yeah. So do you think, why does, do you think it kind of looks like a sunrise or sunset?

Um, it kind of looks like a sunrise and a sunset because the, um, yellow and the orange are kind of mixed together, and the brown and, you know, yellow and orange. Wow. It look like midnight in morning. Interesting. I personally love prairie lilies. They are beautiful. Oh yes. They actually are very pretty. Okay.

My personal favorite flower of all time is the Eastern Columbine. It is beautiful. Oh yes, it's yellow and purple and, okay. Have you guys ever seen blue bells? It's basically like that, but instead of being blue, they're purple. It's yellow and. It has orange in it and a little bit of purple, and it's really, really beautiful.

It does res like resemble a sunset and it. Beautiful. It's also a rare flower, so if you get the chance to see it, it, it's, it's beautiful. It's wonderful. Um, yep. So what eastern color. Also, you should also, um, do grow bleeding hearts because those are so cool. They they're amazing. Yeah. The shape of them is just a heart and it just crazy.

It's wild. Like they come in purple, pink guys. Yellow. Guess what? I was actually in a farmer's market. I was selling towels and we used some of these flowers to print onto the towels. Isn't that kind of crazy? It was wild. It was really like the, the towels turned out beautifully. It was really pretty. And also I have a really, really, really, really big cucumber plant that in like three months it grown like 45 cucumbers.

And That's crazy. Most of them, it's kind of. The season's kind of changing for them. Okay guys, do you have a name for your plant? Big deal. Big deal. That is a great name. Now we're gonna talk about gardening. Eli has already started us off with it. So with his cucumber basically. Also, we have a bunch of mints and I have one man called chocolate and it smells a lot, a lot about chocolate and MIT mixed together everybody.

We have a new game that we're gonna play. It's going to be called fruit or veggie. So E is gonna be asking us, is it a fruit or vey? Veggie. She's gonna be quizzing us, quizzing us. First order of business. Tomato, tomato, tomato, uh, fruit. It has seeds. Eli, right? Um, I'm gonna go with fruit. You guys are both right.

People still sometimes are deciding is a fruit or vegetable? Well, vegetables mostly have, um, like not really that many seeds. They don't have any seeds. Uh, the, uh, fruit is the ones with the seeds. Next ones eggplant. Eggplant. Oh my gosh, that is a vegetable. Eli, I'm gonna go with fruit. L You are correct. Oh my gosh.

And eggplant is a vegetable. Say L, you're wrong. So L has two points. Eli has one. Let's move on to the next. You never told me you were using points. Um, and I have a great prize for the end of this cucumber. Fruit or vegetable? I'm gonna go with vegetable. Vegetable, vegetable. L has three points. Eli has two.

Nice. Next is a pumpkin. Can I get pumpkin? Oh, that is a vegetable. Wait, this is actually hard. I didn't mean that. Um, I'm gonna go with fruit. I'm gonna have to go with fruit. Is that your answer? Vegetable, your answer, you lie. Fruit. That is. Five points, bra and two, three. No, I have four points. EIS two. No, I have three.

Okay. This is going to be a hard one. What is it? I'm kind of scared. Is a carrot. A vegetable. A vegetable. Okay. There you have it. And that for today is fruit or veggie. And guess what? A round of applause. Circle of applause or triangle of applause. I'll take a triangle today. Okay, next up we have weed or flour.

Oh, this one's gonna be so hard. We have a game changer at the end of this one. You guys are just gonna have to wait and see the craziness. Yep. No cheating part. Skipping ahead. First up, we have Queen of the Prairie. That is a, oh, this one's just, that's a weed. I'm guessing I'm going with the flower. Okay.

Looks like for Eli, zero points for L

one point. I would like a circle of applause. Oh, Ellie never gave you a reward. Ready? High five. Oh, come on, Eli. Oh, Eli. Still like Eli took the high. All righty then. Okay, next up for our. Weed or flower. We have pausing for dramatic effect. You guys should know this. Bleeding heart. That is flour. I think flour, flower flour is the correct answer.

Okay, pH. Ellie eating with two points. Eli trailing close behind with one. Next up, we have a good one. What is that? Vinca? Vinca, uh, weed. Weed. Weed. All right. Points for both On the board, vinca is a weed that is actually poisonous to chickens. Mm-hmm. Did you know that chickens would mostly stay, like they wouldn't eat things that are poisonous to them?

Usually it's kind of crazy how they know what things are poisonous to them. All right. Next question. Okay. What's the question? I'm just curious. What's the question? Oh, all right. Horse radish. Uh, that's a plant. Is it a weed or is it just something that you would, something that's not a weed, Eli. That's what I'll say

something. Is it weed? I'm going l has four points and Eli has two. All right. Now it's time for the crazy awesome, amazing question. And if you answer this, you get 500 points.

Dandelion, weed or flower. Uh, this is definitely, it actually is a flower, but. Oh, um, was I not supposed to say it or is it a weed or a flower? I think it's a flower, but it's actually Eli, what do you think? Uh, wait, what? What, what? Dandelion. That is a weed. Boom. Okay. Trick question. You guys are both right. A lot of people think a dandelion is a weed, but dandelions, if you create, if you make dandelion tea with them, with the ones that haven't been sprayed with pesticides, um, they can actually help clean your body.

And it's really, wait, who won this round? High fives all around. Yeah. Oh, Eli. Okay. Oh, E Eli keeps taking my high fives. So, all right. For our, for the final, um, wait, guys, I have a trick question for you. How long does it take to form the top layer of the soil? A five years, B, 10 minutes, CA hundred years deep.

500 to a thousand years. Are you ready? I'm gonna go with 10 minutes. I know the answer to this one, but I'm gonna go with 10 minutes. I'm gonna go with,

um, is a hard, very hard question. A hundred years. Okay. Answer general please. 500 to 1000 years. What? To form the top layer of soil. That's wild. I know. That's actually, so how much does it take to do the whole layer? So it is very delicate. It takes a long time, but my cucumber plant has great soil in it only, but not even a year.

Well, to form the top soil. Yep. All right. To wrap up our gardening sub segment, we are gonna have a compost quiz. Oh, I have no idea what we're doing. All right. Mm. You are going to answer yes. You can put it into the compost, or no, you cannot put it into the compost. All right. First thing, we're gonna take turns.

L you are gonna be going first. Okay. L? Yes. Swiss Cheese. Compost or trash? Yes. What is it? What? Compost or trash? I'm very confused. Is it com? Yes. Compost. Uh, that is incorrect. Bummer. No serious. Eli Swiss cheese cannot go into the compost. Oh, Eli, I wonder what would happen. Your compost quiz. Beef. That can go in the trash or compost.

I'll go with trash. Correct. A moon though. I really actually thought I could just, you know what, but my Swiss cheese, it's Swiss. All right. L. Yeah. Here's one for you. Banana peel. Um, yes, it can go in the compost. Good job. L Eli. A American cheese what? American cheese. Trash or compost? Oh, gold.

Trash or compost Trash. Eli, correct. Mundo. He's leading. Oh, no. Two points for Eli and one point for L. Not far behind. All right, next up. L. Yes. Can you put. A pair of headphones in the compost. No, no. That is correct. We probably shouldn't put them in the trash either. If they're really expensive, don't put headphones in the compost life lesson or the trash if they're expensive.

Life lesson people. Eli Life. There we go. Here's a question for you. Can you put old eggplant in the compost? Um, yes. That is correct. Eli leads with three points. L leads with two. That's what it feels like. L. L, yeah. Can you put strawberries in the compost? Wait. Yes. Yep. Okay, good. All right. Actually, taking worry because you took a while to answer, Eli, can you put.

Drum roll please. Oh no. Oh, I don't think that's a food or anything. I think it might be like a notebook. Can you put a pencil in the compost? Actually, I don't know. Yes, incorrect. You guys are tied. Alright guys, for the final question. Can you, is it good to put. Worms in your compost? Yes. Wait, hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on.

Is it good? We all we'll say it. The answer on three, is it good to put worms in your compost? 1, 2, 3. Yes. All right. You guys both get a pair of high fives. Okay. Eli took mine one more time, so, all right. Well, uh, it's a good thing. Now we're moving on to the next segment. Outdoor games. Hey. Oh, you wanna talk a little bit about jump roping?

Jump roping, something I love. Okay. Uh, jump roping is something I really love. Because, did you say jump roping? I do it a little bit differently than most people do. Some people do it my way, but I actually rock it. Do you know like jump roping, rocking it? It's like where one foot is before the other, but most people put their legs together.

I could do both. You could say I'm decent at jump roping. Uh, sometimes we put jump roping records, records on our fridge. Oh, yes, we try to. Okay. We, we have my, my jump record was 300. No, it wasn't. Okay, fine. It was only 96. Mine was one and 10, and Edie's was 111, so she beat me. Barely. Yep. So, and mine was only 97.

See if you can beat all records. All right. Um, Eli, do you, so do you really, do you like jump rope? Oh, can I write it really quick? It's, it is like my second favorite activity. Three point. No. Five stars and I'm gonna give it a gazillion out of five. Wow. Whoa. All right, I'll round that up. Uh, round that down to, uh, five stars.

Yeah. I'm gonna jump. I love it too. Um, something that I really wanna try with jump roping is double Dutch. Any of you guys do double Dutch jump, jump roping it. I think it'd be really cool to learn. Yeah. Is double dutch. Dutch for jump roping is like where you say Dutch words double times. No, don't. It's swear.

Um, you have two ropes spinning at one time, so you have to jump over like I do that did one leg for one rope. That's how I would do it. I'd be skipping around the Christmas tree. Alright. Sometimes I don't really like how your feet can like trip and I can kind of trip you. So I'm gonna give it four and one half stars.

Final rating, 4 million stars, 4.9 0.7, 7.5. Stars four jump roping. You might wanna put it a little higher because Eli did like a million out of 'em. 4.8. There we go. But I did a five stars and it's only below five stars. No, stop. Um, Eli, you wanna talk us a little bit about hopscotch? Oh, hold on. Lemme just say something real quick.

No, no. So we had a hopscotch thing on our driveway. Um. Really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really. Okay. You can just say your thing. What we You can just say your thing. Pop scotch. That's what he's saying. Yeah. Um, we were having a sleepover at our friend's house. We built this huge hop scotch on a really long driveway and it was crazy.

So we didn't just add the hop scotch where you had to go, like 1, 2, 1 2. We put spin around and leap and we also turned cartwheels us in our friends, so many things. It was wild. Try to make a hop scotch where you don't just add 1, 2, 1 2, add kind of crazy things like handstand cartwheel. Yeah. And also, and we even did go backwards.

Yeah. That was pretty hard. Also, we did like, um, sometimes even, yeah. I can't explain sometimes even. Yeah. So Eli, what's your rating for hopscotch? Um, five stars. I don't really like how sometimes when you hop sculpt. Scotching sometimes, like if you're jumping a lot, you could like fall and trip on your own, like shoe maybe.

So final rating, 4.3. 4.3 stars for LI agree with her. It, um, hopscotch is really, really fun, but also if you jump for a while, then it can kind of hurt. I'm gonna give it a Amelia added 10. Four. So if we calculate all those, please gimme one moment.

I'm gonna give it a 4.6. That, that, that's what I'm gonna give it. Probably not the correct calculation. I'm gonna give it a 4.6. I give it five stars though. Yeah, but me and L's, yeah. All right. And I'm going to review. Cornhole. I love cornhole. It's so much fun. Oh, that's my favorite game. Oh. Like, oh, once I, um, PE and l, like we threw the cornholes and we were like, oh, yeah, I don't know what he is talking about at all.

Um, so there's this, so we went to this place and it had cornhole. Oh, if you don't know what cornhole is, or you can't put a name, or you can't put a face to the name, well. Corn hole is where you throw these bean bags into these boards with holes. Those in them, those not like those big bean bags. You know what?

Sometimes I think that you're throwing horns into holes. Do you know? I think what I don't, I dunno. I'm doing the opposite. L you're throwing holes into corns. Oh, that, well, I really love cornhole. I am going to give it a five. I'm just, that's what I'm gonna do. Five. Oh, I forgot to write it. Five. Um, first I really need to say something about it.

Sometimes the beanbags can get really heavy and if you hold them for a while, they can hurt your fingers, but just don't hold them for a while. Also, if you miss. The other person across from the other cornhole could get hit in the face. So 4.5, that's not it. 4.5 we're going to give it. Highest rating of day four point, or Well seven.

4.87. 4.8. I dunno. We're gonna give it a 4.8. 4.9 please, please. 4.8 and a half. All right, there we go. Now we're gonna move on to our bonus for the outdoor game segment. Trampoline tricks. My personal favorite trick is a front flip and a back flip for me. So I'm gonna give the five stars. Um, my personal favorite trick, as I was saying, um, I really like to try and do like toe touches and leaps really, really high in the air.

What do you think, Elle? I also like backhand springs on there. If no, I don't know how to do aerial, probably cartwheel in case you don't know what an aerial is. It's a cartwheel with no hands, so I like it. Wild to do that. It's super fun. I also know how to do an aerial on flat ground, so that's pretty cool.

Okay guys, it's time for the moment that everybody's been waiting for. Terrific. I'm going to kick off this questions with this special, special question. It is going to be.

How is Wind created? A oh my By rocket ships flying around the earth, D by uh, B clouds crashing into each other. C, how hot air rising and cold air rushing in, or D. true. That is correct. Lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun. That's like wild hot. Okay. Do you know how hot the surface of the sun is? It's hot. That's like a million degrees. All right, so here next we're going to do some lightning questions, so you will have 10 seconds to an to answer, ready, go.
